“Winter’s Dream” workshop + ritual

“Winter Dreams”: Starhawk will join Los Angeles Reclaiming for an afternoon workshop and evening Winter Solstice ritual, with spiral dance.

Workshop:
“Light is Returning: Solstice Stories for the New Era”
Solstice: the time of new beginnings, when the days are darkest but the light begins to grow again. This year is a special time, the ending of an old era in the Mayan calendar and the beginning of a new one. The Mayan myths have inspired us to look at this year as a key time of change. But to create a thriving world in the future, we need to envision and imagine it.
Stories tell us who we are and who we can be. They can limit us or liberate us. And winter is the time for telling them. In this half-day workshop, we’ll form affinity groups around our passions and interests, and within them share and transform our personal stories to deepen our bonds of connection. Using the tools of ritual, meditation, trance and song, together we’ll co-create the tales of liberation that can heal ourselves and the world.

Times:
12:30-3:30 p.m.: workshop
3:30-4:30 p.m.: shared meal option
5:00-7:00 p.m.: ritual
